Love in India

Once there lived a man called Jerry. Whenever you asked him how he was, he would say, "I'm fine. If I were any better, I would be twins!"

One day his friend Tom asked him, "But how is this possible? Is it possible that you're never ever unhappy?"

Jerry said, "Every morning when I wake up I tell myself, 'Jerry, you have two options. You can either be happy, or unhappy.' I choose to be happy.

When I reach my office I tell myself, 'Jerry, you have two options. You can either be happy, or unhappy.' I choose to be happy.

You see, at every point in life, you have a choice. I always choose to be happy. That's it."

Then one day, everything did go wrong.

Jerry had fallen asleep in his home without shutting the front door, when a burglar came, tried to rob the house, and when Jerry woke up, beat him badly, and left with everything he could take.

Tom went to see him in the hospital and asked him how he was.

Jerry said, "I'm fine. If I were any better, I would be twins!"

Tom was astounded and said, "How can you say that now? You're badly injured, you've been robbed and everything!"

Jerry said, "After I regained my sense here in the hospital and realized what had happened, I told myself, ‘Jerry, you can either lament your loss and be miserable because of your injuries, or you can learn from your mistake and make sure this never happens again.' I chose to do the latter. You always have a choice, you see!"
